Any time you use less energy, you produce less air pollution, whether at the power plant, from the chimney of your furnace, or from the exhaust pipe of your car. You also save money!
Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District has released a CD-ROM, "Energy Efficiency Resources for Businesses and Institutions", available free of charge—while supplies last—to businesses and organizations operating in Louisville-Jefferson County. The easy-to-use CD provides simple tips and detailed technical guidance on saving money on the primary energy uses in factories, health care facilities, offices, retail and wholesale businesses, multi-story residential buildings, and other businesses and institutions. Gathering up-to-date information from dozens of sources, it covers:
- heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), including building automation
- lighting
- industrial process heating and steam
- motors, drive systems, and pumps
- compressed air
- refrigeration and food service equipment
- office equipment
- energy management
The disc also provides many links to additional information and technical and financial assistance for energy efficiency projects.
