As the regulatory agency for air pollution in Jefferson County, APCD maintains records documenting the activities at the District. The District makes these records available to the public under Kentucky Regulatory Statute (KRS) 61.870-61.884, the Open Records Policy of Louisville Metro Government, and APCD Regulation 1.08.
How can I file an open records request?
You can file an open records request using APCD’s Open Records Request Form: Word; PDF. Download the form and save it to your computer. You may submit the completed request form to APCD by:

- Fax to (502) 574-7239
- Mail to the APCD Office
You can also request and inspect APCD records in person. Please contact the Open Records Coordinator at (502) 574-6000 to schedule an appointment.
How long will it take to receive the documents?
APCD staff will respond to you within three business days to inform you when the documents will be made available.
What are the costs?
You can view our standard copy and electronic processing charges in the Open Records Policy of Louisville Metro Government.
What records may not be available?
Not all of APCD records are available for public inspection. Certain records qualifying for exemption can be viewed in KRS 61.878.
- Use the APCD Open Records Request Form (see above).
- Provide current and former addresses and company names.
- Records are most easily retrieved by company name, address, and date.
- Define any limitations.
