Metro Animal Services "March Madness"

Wednesday March 21, 2012

With flowers blooming, high temperatures in the 80’s and the NCAA basketball tournament in full swing, the animals of Louisville Metro know it’s springtime! Since March 1st, an astonishing 397 dogs and cats have come through the doors of Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) and our kennels are full!

“Our furry friends would much rather be at home, on the couch, watching the NCAA basketball games than spending their evenings in a shelter,” said Justin L. Scally, Director of Louisville Metro Animal Services. “Spring is a time of new beginnings, a ‘purr-fect’ time to give shelter pets a HOME court advantage.”

Now thru the end of March, LMAS is offering ‘Slam Dunk,’ ‘Three Point Shot’ and ‘Double Team’ promotions. Take advantage of our ‘Slam Dunk’ deals on cats ($20 adoptions for cats over 6 months); ‘Three Point Shot’ deals on harder to place dogs ($25 for traditionally harder to place dogs such as pit bulls, black dogs and/or hounds); and ‘Double Team’ deals for cats and dogs (“two for the price of one” adoptions when two animals are adopted at the same time), all with an approved application.

On Saturday, March 31st,LMAS staff and volunteers will go into ‘overtime’ to help save pets – show your love of the game and excitement for the NCAA Final Four by wearing your favorite team’s jersey to the Animal House Adoption Center! Don’t forget to walk out the door with a new life-long friend!

We have no doubt that our team’s ‘underdogs’ or ‘undercats’ will bring happiness to your life!
