Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) and the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) will join the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Subaru of America for Subaru’s annual year-end “Share the Love” campaign and celebration which runs through January 2, 2013. As part of this national effort, LMAS, KHS and Subaru will team up to create off-site adoptions on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Neil Huffman Subaru, 4926 Dixie Highway. Discounted adoptions, humane education as well as a low cost license, microchip and rabies clinic will be offered. The collection of wish list donations for LMAS and KHS will continue through the end of the year.
“Share the Love” gives new car buyers and leasees the opportunity to donate $250 to one of five charities – including the ASPCA. One hundred percent of the ASPCA’s “Share the Love” donation is targeted for distribution as grants to animal welfare organizations in all 50 states and Louisville Metro Animal Services and the Kentucky Humane Society are pleased to be a recipient of one of these grants.
“Many families have sadly had to part with their pets in recent years as a result of the economic downturn,” said LMAS Director Justin Scally. “These funds from the ASPCA will help expand our safety net program in order to keep more families together.”
“Partnering with LMAS and Subaru is a great way to help our homeless animals find a Home for the Holidays,” said Lori Redmon, KHS president and CEO.
“We are encouraging the community to drop off wish list items to our dealership on Dixie Highway to help Louisville animals,” said Chuck Norton of Neil Huffman Subaru. “Toys, beds, treats, cleaning supplies… every little bit helps.”
