Metro Animal Services Extends Discounted Adoption Offer Following Flood
Tuesday August 18, 2009
LOUISVILLE (August 18, 2009) – Metro Animal Services’ (MAS) adoption fair helped over 80 animals find homes last weekend, but there are still more patiently waiting. Adopting all of the flood animals is a goal for the staff and volunteers at MAS, so to make it easier the deep discounts will continue.
Adopters will receive 30 percent off adoption fees for animals who were affected by the flood. Anyone who volunteered or donated an item to Animal Services during the flood rescue and clean-up, or anyone who brings in an item to donate this weekend, is eligible for an additional 20 percent off adoption fees – for a total of 50 percent off.
“The staff and volunteers felt so strongly about getting all of the flood animals adopted that we thought it would really help us meet our goal if we gave the community an incentive,” said Jackie Gulbe, a spokeswoman for Animal Services. “These animals have been through so much, everyone is looking forward to being able to say that we placed all of the flood animals.”
“I’d like to remind people about the wonderful cats that we have, and everything is done, they are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and licensed - all for a small price”, said Dr. Gilles Meloche, director of Metro Animal Services.
Metro Animal Services is located at 3705 Manslick Road.
