Our New Home Will Need New Furniture - Give a Dog or Cat a Bed for the Holidays!
Tuesday November 17, 2009
(LOUISVILLE, November 17, 2009) – Metro Animal Services (MAS) new adoption center, 3514 Newburg Road, will need a lot of creature comforts, and dog and cat beds are on the list. Dogs and cats waiting to be adopted will need some new beds to lounge in while they are waiting to be adopted, and MAS is asking animal lovers to help to get them. Elevated beds keep the animals dry and cozy, which means they are more comfortable and well-behaved. Metro Animal Services is accepting donations to purchase 60 durable Kuranda dog beds and 20 Kuranda cat beds which will help keep many of the animals comfortable during their stay at MAS. Some of the donated beds will also be used to replace some of the older ones at the current Manslick Road facility.
“We want to make the surroundings and accommodations for the animals at Metro Animal Services the best they can be, and the Kuranda beds play a big part in that goal,” said Jackie Gulbe, director of community relations. “We were very successful two years ago in securing over 100 beds and they have served us well - so well, we want to use them in the new building.”
The Metro Animal Services website links you to the Kuranda bed website to process donations. People can also send in a check to MAS specifying the donation purpose. Beds purchased directly through Kuranda will be delivered to MAS.
Those who are interested in making a donation may visit the Metro Animal Services website at www.Louisvilleky.gov/AnimalServices for instructions or they may call 574-5390.
