Are you 14-18 and looking for an opportunity to earn service hours or learn more about animals? Metro Animal Services has opportunities for young people to assist shelter pets and help the community. Some ways you can help include:
Donation drives
Fundraisers
Adoption Clinics
Adoptions counseling (Mobiles and Saturdays)
Socialization and grooming (requires 100 hours of volunteer service)
You must complete the youth application and attend an orientation session accompanied by a parent if you wish to work in adoptions. Your parent is required to complete the Waiver of Coverage in case you are injured.
You can also start a youth animal welfare program in your school. Programs currently exist at Ballard High School (BARC).
