Join us for Louisville's Bike to Work Day celebration during lunch at 4th Street Live on Friday, May 21st!


Celebration at 4th Street Live!
Join Bike Louisville and WFPK 91.9's Marion Dries at 12 noon on Friday, May 21 at 4th Street TrekLive! to meet up with other commuters, learn more about bicycle commuting, visit with vendors and just celebrate the bicycle! And one of the lucky bike to work day registrants will win a new Trek 7000 commuting bike, with packs and rack, no purchase necessary!
We will also be giving out Louisville's new printed bike map and drawing for other prizes!

Bike to Work Day takes place rain or shine.



Meet & Ride Locations

  • Seneca Park Meet & Ride

    This year, we'll be meeting three times during the month of May.  Just join us at the basketball court parking lot just west of the tennis courts on these dates and times:
    • Practice ride: Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m.
    • Practice ride: Friday, May 14 at 7:00 a.m.
    • Bike to Work Day Friday, May 21st at 7:00 a.m.

Note: Heavy rain or storms will cancel the practice rides.

  • Iroquois Park Meet & Ride

    This year we'll be meeting three times during the month of May. Just meet at the Amphitheater parking lot on these dates and times:
    • Practice ride: Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m.
    • Practice ride: Friday, May 14 at 7:00 a.m.
    • Bike to Work Day Friday, May 21st at 7:00 a.m.

    This year we'll be meeting three times during the month of May.  Meet at the Southwestern and Broadway entrance on these dates and times:
    • Practice ride: Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m.
    • Practice ride: Friday, May 14 at 7:00 a.m.
    • Bike to Work Day Friday, May 21st at 7:00 a.m.


Note: Heavy rain or storms will cancel the practice rides.  Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 21 will happen rain or shine.

The Meet & Ride locations feature parking if you are driving and will allow you to ride with other riders and ride captains from the Louisville Bicycle Club! Riders must have a helmet.


What's our goal this year?

  • To promote and encourage people biking to work on Bike to Work Day, Week, and Month.

How does this fit into our objectives for our bike master plan?  Our objectives are:

  • For 800 people to register for Louisville’s 2010 Bike to Work Events by May 21st 2010
  • For 400 people to bike to participate in Louisville’s 2010 Bike to Work Events by May 21st 2010
  • For 300 people to bike to work for their first time by May 21st 2010
  • For 10 teams to compete on the RideGreen page (Bicycling for Louisville) for 2010 Bike to Work Events by May 21st 2010
