Clean

Brightside desires to bring together all citizens of Louisville to help make the city cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Together, we can make a great environmental and economic impact.

There are several ways to get involved with partnership and initiatives with Brightside to help keep Louisville clean and green. Brightside organizes two large-scale cleanups for Louisville during the year; one in the spring and one in the fall. However, you don't have to wait for Brightside to announce the next Community-Wide Cleanup to do your part towards having a litter-free city. Any group wanting to have a cleanup can be provided gloves, trash bags and a limited quantity of tools at no cost. Brightside also works with Metro Solid Waste Management Services to coordinate trash removal after groups have cleaned an area.

A clean initiative of the ONE BRIGHT CITY program is the Brightside Community-Wide Cleanliness Index. The Brightside Index will be launched at 10 sites –approximately a half-mile corridor in length – within the 26 Metro Council districts, for a total of 260 sites community-wide.
