Youth Summit

Brightside and Partnership for a Green City sponsor Youth Summit for grades 5-12. Students participate in hands-on field projects focusing on environmental issues in Kentucky's Green and Healthy Schools Programs.

Kentucky's Green and Healthy Schools Programs initiative is a project of the Kentucky Environmental Council. The goal of the council is to provide participating schools and students a greater sense of environmental stewardship, especially for their school site.

Schools select student leaders to participate in this year long program. Brightside and Partnership for Green City secure trained professionals in targeted environmental areas to work with the schools on a monthly basis. By school year end, the goal of the program is for students to product measurable outcomes that impact our local environment.
