Ryder Cup Raffle Raises Bucks for Brightside
Tuesday September 2, 2008
Don’t despair if you still haven’t found those elusive tickets for the Ryder Cup – a pair of tickets could be yours for just $50. St. Matthews boutique Parallel 38 is selling 500 raffle tickets for two ground passes for the golf event. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit Brightside, the city’s beautification program.
“The Ryder Cup is the toughest ticket in town, and the chance to win them for such a small investment is a great opportunity,” said Mayor Jerry Abramson. “The money raised for Brightside will make sure that our community continues to be a beautiful place for visitors and residents to enjoy.”
The Ryder Cup tickets are for the sold out round on Saturday, Sept. 20. The drawing will be held at Parallel 38 at 3905 Chenoweth Square during a cocktail reception on Thursday, Sept. 11. The winning number will be drawn at 7 p.m. Registrants do not need to be present to win.
“We are very excited about this event. Brightside is a tremendous asset and we are proud to support them,” said Terri Cardwell, owner of Parallel 38. “It’s a win-win raffle – a win for Brightside’s beautification programs and a big win for the lucky person holding those Ryder Cup tickets!”
Parallel 38 is offering a shopping bonus on the day of the drawing of 15 percent off any purchase. Brands include Lacoste, Vineyard Vines, Patagonia, and Tommy Bahama. Parallel 38 is the exclusive seller of the official Louisville Metro tie, made by Vineyard Vines. A portion of sales from those ties also benefit Brightside.
- Donor funded and volunteer driven, Brightside is uniting people in clean and green activities to beautify the city and foster community pride.
