The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program provided by Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership is designed to assist residents in achieving their career goals in becoming an CNA. Applications are currently being accepted for a training course which begins April 20, 2010. If selected, your training fees for the course will be covered and paid directly to the American Red Cross, where the CNA classes will be held.
The training program has the following eligibility requirements to apply:
• Resident of Metro Louisville
• High school graduate or GED
• Household income does not exceed income requirements (200% of federal poverty guidelines)
The following items and documents must be submitted with your application for consideration and approval for a scholarship:
• Copy of Driver's License or State I.D. Card
• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Proof of household’s gross income—for student if considered to be independent from parent/guardian, or for parent/guardian if student is dependent
• Proof of household size (copies of Social Security cards for all household members)
• One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, clergy, or employer
• Completed application with typed essay attached
• Authorization for State background check
