CRISIS UTILITY ASSISTANCE

The cost of home heating is a challenge for many low-income Kentuckians.
Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership may be able to help. Apply at the nearest Community Action office for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Applications will be taken starting January 7, 2008 and will continue until March 31, 2008 or until funds are no longer available.

NOTE: Applicants must be disconnected or have a disconnect notice to apply. If utilities are included in the rent, applicants must have an eviction notice from the landlord to apply.



BRING WITH YOU:

• Picture ID
• Social Security cards for each person in the household
• Proof of previous month’s gross income (current award letter, all previous month’s pay stubs, etc.) or zero income statement (food stamp award letter, termination letter, etc.)
• Crisis Verification 
    -Current disconnect notice (brown bill) from LG&E, 
    -Within four days of running out of bulk fuel (propane, fuel oil, etc.) or 
    - Eviction notice from the landlord, if utilities are included in your rent.

Seniors 55 years and over have priority on Fridays.
