Heater Assistance Program

November 6, 2006 through March 31, 2007

    The Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership's (CAP) Heater Assistance Program is taking place November 6, 2006 through March 31, 2007. This program provides heaters to eligible persons who have lost heat in their home due to furnace malfunctions. Interested applicants can apply weekdays 1:00pm to 4:00pm by calling and scheduling an appointment at one of the following locations:

CAP Central District
– 574-1157, 1200 South Third Street (Administrative Office)

CAP East District - 574-1270, 4810 Exeter Ave (Newburg Community Center)

CAP South District – 574-1272, 7219 Dixie Highway (Southwest Government Center)

Applicants will also need to bring the following information for eligibility determination:

1. Your most recent heating bills or verification from your landlord that the heating expenses are included in your rent;

2. Social Security Number or Permanent Resident Card Number for everyone living in your household;

3. Proof of your household's income for the preceding month or proof of $0 Income (Food Stamp Award letter, Termination letter, etc.);

4. Proof of Furnace Malfunction (Landlord letter, Estimate for Repair, etc.); and

Picture ID.
