Project A.C.H.I.E.V.E. (A Chance to Have Improved Employment Via Education)


The LMCAP in partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Adult Education implements this program through employer-driven, job-specific training in office technology. Additional services include an intensive life skills curriculum, job shadowing and job placement. The employment opportunities available after the eight-week training is receptionist, account clerk, data entry operator, mail handler, clerk typist, general clerk, payroll clerk and computer operator. The course schedule is 8 weeks of instruction, 5 days a week for a total of 240 hours.

Eligibility:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Office Technology Training
Computer Data Entry
Word Processing
Spread Sheets
Microsoft Word & Excel
Customer Service Training
Job Placement Assistance

Eight Week Program – 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Class Meets 6 Hours A Day (Mon-Fri)
Class held at Ahrens Educational Resource Center – 546 S. First St.
GED/Diploma Required
Basic computer knowledge and typing necessary
Must take Reading Comprehension test
Transportation Assistance (TARC tickets)
Family Income not to exceed 125% US Dept. of HHS Poverty
