Weed & Seed
Weed & Seed, a community-based strategy sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, is a comprehensive multi-agency approach to law enforcement, crime prevention, and community revitalization.
The Weed & Seed strategy is to “weed out” violent criminals and drug abusers and to plant the “seed” of community-based human services such as substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment and neighborhood restoration programs. A community policing component bridges the weeding and seeding elements.
Formerly under the administration of Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership, Weed & Seed is now administered by the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD). For more information, please click here to link to the LMPD website.
