Submit a Consumer Complaint

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has a mission to make markets for consumer financial products and services work for Americans. Whether you're applying for a mortgage, choosing among credit cards, or using any number of other consumer financial products, the CFPB wants to help you understand, select, and effectively use the best tools for your financial situation.

If you've had problems with a financial product or service in the past, the CFPB wants to know about it! You can submit complaints on the following financial products and services:
  • Bank account or service
  • Credit card
  • Credit reporting
  • Debt collection
  • Money transfer
  • Mortgage
  • Student loan
  • Vehicle or consumer loan
  • Payday loan

Visit the Submit a Complaint page with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to learn more and get started. When you submit a complaint, the CFPB will send your message to the company involved, will work to get a response from them to resolve the issue, and will keep you informed and seek your feedback on each step of the way.

If you have something else to say about a financial product or service, you can
tell your story and share what worked or what didn't work in your experience. The CFPB researches and regulates financial institutions and alternative service providers, and they need to hear from you to make those providers work for your needs.
