Neighborhood Place hosts free events and workshops in May

Neighborhood Place locations all across Louisville offer free, valuable workshops and services year-round which are open to the community. Below are some of the highlighted events over the next few weeks which include a student loan workshop, several opportunities to attend a “Baby Shower” for moms-to-be plus a Job Fair in June. May 12 and May 19, Fatherhood University at Northwest Neighborhood Place, 9 am – 5 pm

Located at Shawnee High School, 4018 West Market Street, 502.356-7478 or
Fatherhood University is a prevention and fatherhood program specifically designed for young males 14-24. Classes offered in conjunction with 2NOT1 Fatherhood and Families.

May 14, Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) visits South Central Neighborhood Place, 5:30 pm

Join us if you are interested in taking out a student loan or currently hold one to broaden your understanding of the student loan process, and how to access and manage loans.

May 16, Louisville Free Public Library’s JOB SHOP visits Northwest Neighborhood Place, 1- 4 pm

May 16, “Eat Right When the Money is Tight” workshop at Neighborhood Place Ujima, 11 am

“A Healthy Journey for Two” Baby Shower (offered at the four Neighborhood Place locations listed below.)

Seven Counties and KIDSNow will be hosting this educational baby shower to share information on how to care for yourself and your baby while being pregnant. Participants will receive a diaper bag filled with goodies.

Cane Run Neighborhood Place and Farnsley Community Middle School are hosting a Job Fair for those in the community who are in need of employment services.

Louisville’s Neighborhood Place -- a partnership of Louisville Metro Government (including Community Services and Revitalization and Public Health and Wellness), Jefferson County Public Schools, Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Seven Counties -- provide one-stop centers which bring together health care, education, employment and social services at eight locations across the community.
