Event Details:
Raising Ms. President is about raising the next generation of female political leaders. Studies show that when more women are at the political decision making table, their presence does make a difference, the problem is, women just don’t want to run. Most young women find it too much pressure and too difficult to run for elective positions. This documentary explores some of the reasons women don’t run for office and uncovers where political ambition begins. If we don’t have more young women envisioning themselves at the top, then asking them to run for office when they are older won’t matter. We must change the political landscape across the board, for the betterment of all people and our country.
Raising Ms. President, 1-hour film written and directed by Louisvillian, Kiley Lane Parker - "I'm excited to finally have this film finished and out in the world. It is so important to encourage our young women to see themselves as leaders. I truly believe that with more women at the decision making table, there will be better outcomes for us all."
