Want to learn how to make the perfect mint julep before your Derby guests arrive? Bourbon 102, the second class in a series of three that teaches participants things like how to properly taste bourbon, details about the history of bourbon and an explanation of mash bills, will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 6:00pm at the Silver Dollar, a honky-tonk whiskey bar located at 1761 Frankfort Avenue. This will be an interactive class that will focus on mixing the perfect cocktails, and the participants will create and taste their own cocktail creations. The event is open to the public and tickets are $35 per person. Space is limited. The three-class series is being hosted by New2Lou, a social resource for newcomers to Derby City, and the Hawthorn Beverage Group, leaders in spirits consulting and marketing.
