CenterStage is honored to present its first production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. This rollicking, happy-go-lucky view of small town vice and statewide political side-stepping recounts the good times and the demise of the Chicken Ranch, known since the 1850s as one of the better pleasure palaces in all of Texas. Governors, senators, mayors and even victorious college football teams frequent Miss Mona's cozy bordello until a puritan nemesis watchdog focuses his television cameras and his righteous indignation on the institution.
CenterStage’s premier of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is the fourth musical of the season and an amazing part of an already stellar 2013/2014 line up. It follows nearly sold out productions of Les Miserables and Legally Blonde.
Rooted in 99 years of theatrical tradition, CenterStage at the Jewish Community Center is a semi-professional theatre that produces six Broadway-style musicals each season and also provides theatre education opportunities through CenterStage Academy and CenterStage Acting Out.
CenterStage will celebrate 100 years in 2014, making it the oldest theatre in Kentucky. John Leffert has been serving as CenterStage’s Artistic Director for 14 years.
