Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising walk taking place in 160 cities across the United States to help raise money to find a cure for nearly 24 million Americans living with diabetes and to help improve their lives. Participants register and recruit co-workers, friends and family members to walk and raise money. The day of the event is a party to celebrate the fundraising accomplishments of our teams and individual participants as well as an opportunity to promote awareness about diabetes in the local community and the American Diabetes Association.

Route: 1 mile and 5K (approximately 3 miles)

Family Event: This Walk is a Family Friendly event! Strollers are welcome. Dogs on leashes are invited as well! There will be a children’s area with crafts and activities for you and your young ones to enjoy.

Food: Enjoy bagels, fruit, coffee, cold drinks and other healthy snacks in the ADA Café.

Health & Wellness Festival: While we pursue a cure for diabetes, we want those affected by it to live the healthiest life possible in the interim. At Step Out, we will hold a Wellness Festival with various vendors who want to help you live the best life you can – even with diabetes.

Red Striders: Red Striders are anyone who lives every day with diabetes - type 1 or type 2 – that registers to participate in Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. Red Striders will be recognized at Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes with a special “red” hat, free goodies and a lot more. Please join us and be acknowledged. You are why we walk!!
