Apr 12-13 - 18th Century Thunder - Locust Grove
Saturday, April 12, 2014
Sunday, April 13, 2014
Two hundred years before the fireworks, during the Revolutionary War, George Rogers Clark's army thundered into what is now Louisville. On April 12-13 at Locust Grove, meet the troops, see how they lived, and watch them train for the western most part of America's struggle for independence.
The grounds of Locust Grove will be open for families to picnic and to interact with the reenactors at no cost. Tours of the 1790s house will be open for tours at a reduced admission of $6 adults and $3 children.
The event takes place 10-4:30 each day. The historic house will be open 10-4:30 on Saturday and 1-4:30 on Sunday.
Activities include a Morning Parade, Battalion Drills, a Memorial Service for George Rogers Clark and Recruitment of new troops (excellent for children).
