Louisville's Holiday Tradition

Light Up Louisville

Light Up has been a Louisville tradition since 1981. Now in its 27th year, more than 75,000 people gather downtown in Jefferson Square Park the day after Thanksgiving to enjoy spectacular holiday music & entertainment, a Parade, a children’s area that includes Santa’s Workshop and dozens of specialty foods & crafts… all to get you ready for the season.

Winter Wonderland ParadeLight Up!Live entertainment all evening.

The brilliance of Light Up Louisville will continue through the holiday season with a special hourly high-tech light show between 6 and 10 p.m., after Light Up Louisville and continuing through New Year's Eve. "Music, Magic and Lou-minations: A Fantasy in Lights" is a 14-minute animated lights display synchronized to holiday music. It will include more than 30 trees plus the giant 40-foot "electronic" Christmas Tree.

Pair it with a carriage ride and dinner at one of our many downtown restaurants and you have the makings for a very special holiday experience.

The light display and 40-foot Christmas Tree are located in Jefferson Square Park at the corner of 6th & Jefferson Streets.
