Child Support Insert 2009 to be published April 19th

Mike O’Connell, Jefferson County Attorney, announced today that the fourth annual list of Delinquent Child Support Obligors will appear in the Courier-Journal this Sunday,
April 19th.

This year’s list contains a total of 3,206 names of individuals who, as of March 25thth, have not made a child support payment for 6 months or longer and owe more than $10,000 in court- ordered child support to children under 18 years of age living in Louisville Metro. The insert will contain 616 of these names, with a link to the County Attorney’s website containing 2,590 additional individuals ( The insert will list the obligor’s name, last known address and amount owed as of March 25th. Readers with information on the current location of the obligors are asked to call the Child Support Hotline at

574-0821. All information is confidential.

The previous three years of the insert have produced location information on more than 2,000 individuals and more than $2.2 million in child support collections.

“The total money owed to community children on this year’s list is $97 million,” said O’Connell.

“Look over the list, check the website, and, if you know the whereabouts of anyone listed, please call the Hotline number. You can help these children get the money owed to them. They are our future. ”
