The Downtown Development Corporation (DDC) coordinates the planning, development, design, and operational functions of the central business district, t
hrough an agreement with Louisville Metro.
DDC assists in analyzing and developing major real estate projects, urban design programs, and downtown loan programs.
Recent additions to downtown's landscape include the Muhammad Ali Center, Frazier Historical Arms Museum, and Marriott's Residence Inn, each receiving assistance through local and state incentives.
Downtown housing is on the uptick, with a twofold increase of downtown housing units in the last twenty years, with projections of yet another twofold increase in the next three years.
