Sanitation and Foodsafety Excellence Award
2013 2012 2011 2010
The S.A.F.E. award recognizes food service establishments that have demonstrated outstanding food handling and sanitation practices. S.A.F.E. award winning facilities strive to ensure safe dining and may be considered model operations for all food service establishments. Nominations are made by Health Department inspectors and are agreed upon by the Health Department Food Hygiene Staff. To be eligible for nomination, a food service establishment must have maintained an A placard for two successive routine inspections. It must also serve foods such as meat or egg products, which if mishandled, have the potential to be associated with food borne illness. An eligible facility must also have had a food service permit for at least one year, have complied with regulations, and have provided Certified Food Managers as required by law.
