The Jefferson County Smoke Free Coalition is divided into six task groups:

Adult Task Group: primary tasks are to encourage adults to stop using tobacco products and offers assistance by scheduling and promoting adult smoking cessation programs and support groups.

Schools & Youth Task Group: primary tasks are to encourage and assists public and private schools (K-12) to use evaluated, science-based tobacco prevention curricula and to offer assistance by scheduling and promoting adolescent smoking cessation programs in schools and in the community.

Second Hand Smoke Task Group: primary tasks are to increase awareness of the health hazards related to environmental tobacco smoke exposure and encourage and assist worksites, including restaurants, to develop smoke free policies.

Professional Education Task Group: primary tasks are to encourage and assist health care providers to advise and assist patients to stop using tobacco products. 

Disparate PopulationsTask Group: primary tasks are to provide education about the health hazards of tobacco use and environmental tobacco smoke exposure to disparate populations and provide assistance, if needed, with tobacco cessation.

Prenatal Task Group: primary tasks are to plan and implement activities that identify and eliminate disparities related to tobacco use and its effects on pregnant women, new mothers, and their young infants and children.
