The Second Annual Faith Walk:
People from churches, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of faith throughout Louisville will participate in the Second Annual Faith Walk on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in Shawnee Park at Broadway and Southwestern Parkway. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with an opening warm-up session at the bandstand located at the Broadway entrance to Shawnee Park. The walk begins at 9:30 am with a one mile route for beginners and an extended route of three miles for more experienced walkers. Each walker will receive a free gift. The first 200 to sign up will also receive a 50-million challenge pedometer and challenge kit provided by State Farm.
“The walk is a way for people of all faiths to demonstrate their belief in leading a Healthier lifestyle,” said Metro Public Health and Wellness Director Dr. Adewale Troutman. Event sponsors include the Metro Public Health and Wellness Department’s Faith and Health Network, Norton Healthcare, the Area Health Education Center, State Farm Insurance, and the Steward Staff.
