Healthy Hometown Pedestrian Summit & Community Walkability Plan

Pre-registration for the Pedestrian Summit is full due to limited seating. Call 574-6209 to be added to our waiting list, and we will contact you if space becomes available.

The Kick-off Reception with Mayor Abramson is on Friday, May 9 at the Kentucky International Convention Center from 5:30-7pm. This reception is free and open to the public, and will take place in room 110; enter off of Third St. in the Trackside doors.

Whether you are attending the Summit or not, please join us for this informal celebration of walking, running, and rolling in Louisville!  Share your ideas with Mayor Abramson and other officials, get a preview of the Summit, and enjoy refreshments and a cash bar.

Updated: Please click here to take a new online survey, especially (but not only) if you attended a Community Workshop.  This new survey delves a bit deeper into what it's like to be a pedestrian in Louisville, and gets your feedback about the Community Workshops (if you attended one).  Everyone is encouraged to take the survey, and thanks in advance for participating.

Welcome to the digital home of the Healthy Hometown Pedestrian Summit and Community Walkability Plan.  This project will set the course for a walkable future for Louisville.

While not everyone is a driver or a cyclist, we are all pedestrians at some point in every day.

Despite how important walking is, Louisville has limited resources to devote to pedestrian projects and programs.  The Pedestrian Summit and Walkability Plan will, with your help, establish priorities to make sure that the resources we do have are used wisely.

This is our effort to create a Walkable Louisville.  Join in and help make this vision a reality.

  1. The first step is to sign up for email updates about the Ped. Summit and Plan project and take our brief online survey

  2. The second step is to tell your friends and get them to sign up, too.

  3. The third step is to really step up and participate: come to the Community Workshops which interest you, come to the Pedestrian Summit, speak up, and become a leader.

The Community Workshops and the working groups at the Summit will help set priorities for the Community Walkability Plan which will guide pedestrian development in Louisville for years to come.

For your voice to be heard, it's important to get involved now!  Start by signing up for e-mail updates and coming to a Community Workshop!

If you have questions or comments, contact Jon Villines via e-mail or at 502.574.0104.
