Free Weight Control Series Being Offered by Health Department

LOUISVILLE, KY (October 19, 2006) – Individuals interested in learning successful weight loss strategies, grocery shopping tips, cooking light, eating on the go & dealing with the common pitfalls of weight loss can take advantage of a free weight control series being offered by the Louisville Metro Health Department.
Sessions will be held on Fridays (October 20, 27 and November 3) from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at Clifton Baptist Church, 1947 Frankfort Avenue (Fellowship Hall).
“This is a very helpful series of classes for people who want to get healthy and lose weight,” said Margaret Heyn, registered dietician with the chronic disease prevention team with the Louisville Metro Health Department. “Participants receive body fat analysis and an individually calculated calorie level with a meal plan appropriate for those with or without diabetes.”
The series is conducted by a registered dietitian, free of charge. Participants must register in advance by calling 574-6663.
