The Louisville Metro Departmentof Public Health and Wellness' Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program is funded by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through grants from the Kentucky Department for Public Health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires using these funds to address the following goals: prevent initiation of tobacco use among young people, promote quitting among young people and adults, eliminate nonsmokers’ exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and identify and eliminate the disparities related to tobacco use and its effects among different population groups.
The Jefferson County Smoke Free Coalition

The primary partners of the Jefferson County Smoke Free Coalition are the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, Jefferson County Medical Society. In addition, representatives from numerous health, community and faith organizations are involved in the work of the coalition and its task groups. Click here to learn more.
