Coca-Cola’s Commitments to Help Fight Obesity

Earlier this year, The Coca-Cola Company launched a global marketing campaign to help address obesity by raising awareness, educating people about choice and motivating people to be active. Today, we are taking another step in our journey to help improve people's well-being in the more than 200 countries where we operate with four global business commitments to:

  • Offer low- or no-calorie beverage options in every market.
  • Provide transparent nutrition information, featuring calories on the front of all of our packages.
  • Help get people moving by supporting physical activity programs in every country where we do business.
  • Market responsibly, including no advertising to children under 12 anywhere in the world.
As our Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent has said, "Obesity is today's most challenging health issue affecting nearly every family and community across the globe. It is a global societal issue which will take all of us doing our part. We are committed to being part of the solution. Today's announcement is another step forward on our journey, as we take action with the scale and reach across every country and continent where we operate."

We are committed to being part of the solution, and in the US, we are supporting local initiatives such as Louisville Mayor' Hike, Bike and Paddle, Clear on Calories, Sprite Spark Park promotions to rebuild parks, Marathons/Mini-Marathons and the Boys and Girls Clubs Coca-Cola Triple Play to name just a few. We also plan to work with local communities to support these commitments.

Visit www.comingtogether.com to see exactly how we will apply these commitments and measure our efforts, track our progress and share feedback and ideas on how we can collectively promote choice, balance and movement to be part of the solution to obesity. We firmly believe that when people come together, good things happen and even more can be done.
