Housing & Community Development is now the Revitalization Division and is part of the Louisville Metro Department of Community Services and Revitalization, formerly known as Housing & Family Services. The Revitalization Division works to increase the supply of affordable housing.  Division staff work with developers and housing non-profit organizations to expand the housing opportunities available to low and moderate income residents.

Programs offered by the Revitalization Division  of the Department of Community Services and Revitalization include:

The Revitalization Division oversees the Real Estate Programs listed below.  Special tax assessments, foreclosure acquisitions and condemnation are utilized to redevelop and create stronger neighborhoods.


Programs which are now part of the Community Services Division of the Department of Community Services and Revitalization include:

The Department of Community Services and Revitalization consists of a Compliance and Administration Division which is charged with compliance and monitoring of all grant funds, the development of the Consolidated Plan, the CAPER (Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report) and many other regulatory issues pertaining to grant funding for Metro Louisville programs and external agencies.
