Code Alleviation Program

The Louisville Metro Housing & Community Development Code Alleviation Program is designed to assist owner-occupants in the form of grants with eliminating exterior code violations.

To be eligible for the Code Alleviation Program:
  • The applicant must be owner-occupant of the property and have resided in the home for at least one (1) year.
  • Household must be within the income guidelines.
  • Property can only receive Code Alleviation Program assistance one time.
  • Must have homeowners and/or fire insurance.
  • Property taxes must be paid in full.
  • Property must be within the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro area.
  • Property must have a roof leak or must have been cited by Inspections, Permits & Licenses Department (IPL) for exterior repairs.

The type of repairs to be made to your home will be determined by a Louisville Metro Housing & Community Development inspection.
