Weatherization Assistance Program

The Weatherization Assistance Program assists low-income residents in making energy-related repairs to their homes. Repairs which are made will make homes more energy-efficient, and thereby reduce natural gas costs.

To be eligible, resident must:

  • Reside in Metro Louisville area.
  • Be a homeowner who has resided in the home for at least one (1) year.
  • Be income-eligible.

Weatherization service/repairs may include:

  • Repair/replacement of furnace and/or water heater.
  • Inspection for carbon monoxide and gas leaks.
  • Installation of smoke detector(s).
  • Installation of carbon monoxide detector(s).
  • Ductwork repair and/or replacement.
  • Wrapping of ductwork and water lines in unheated area.
  • Repair/replacement of venting.
  • Installation of insulation to the attic, walls and floor.
  • Air sealing work (i.e., caulking, weatherstrip, repair windows and doors, drywall repair, floor repair, etc.).
