The Weatherization Assistance Program assists low-income residents in making energy-related repairs to their homes. Repairs which are made will make homes more energy-efficient, and thereby reduce natural gas costs.
To be eligible, resident must:
- Reside in Metro Louisville area.
- Be a homeowner who has resided in the home for at least one (1) year.
- Be income-eligible.
Weatherization service/repairs may include:
- Repair/replacement of furnace and/or water heater.
- Inspection for carbon monoxide and gas leaks.
- Installation of smoke detector(s).
- Installation of carbon monoxide detector(s).
- Ductwork repair and/or replacement.
- Wrapping of ductwork and water lines in unheated area.
- Repair/replacement of venting.
- Installation of insulation to the attic, walls and floor.
- Air sealing work (i.e., caulking, weatherstrip, repair windows and doors, drywall repair, floor repair, etc.).
