Our Boards
The Louisville Metro Human Relations Commission is composed of two (2) distinct bodies.
HUMAN RELATIONS-ENFORCEMENT This body is composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Metro Council. The duties, responsibilities, and authorities granted to the Enforcement Board are for investigation and enforcement of local anti-discrimination laws.
HUMAN RELATIONS-ADVOCACY This body is composed of ten (10) members, appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Metro Council. The Advocacy Board shall endeavor to promote and secure mutual understanding and respect among all economic, social, religious, ethnic, and social groups in the metropolitan area, and shall act as conciliator in controversies involving intergroup and interracial relations.
