Welcome to Louisville Metro Human Services (LMHS) - Division of the Department of Housing & Family Services
Our work centers on children, youth, adults, and the elderly – providing the assistance they need at different periods in their lives. Our ultimate goal is to strengthen families, because strong families provide the underpinning for a strong community.
We assist in stabilizing families as they move toward self-sufficiency, leadership and support in policy and advocacy arenas through community projects and collaborations.
We extend our outreach and expand our efforts by providing funding to non-profits that focus on those same populations and goals. In addition, we engage in partnerships and collaborations to ensure that every available resource is being used.
