Volunteer in the International Community
Did you know that Louisville is home to over 50,000 immigrants and refugees from around the world? In fact, over 50% of our city's total population growth in the last 10 years is credited to the internationals that have migrated to our community and made Louisville their home. In our school system alone, over 91 countries and 80 languages are represented!
Many of these immigrants and refugees face complicated barriers to fully integrating into community life, learning English, and navigating the systems and customs of a foreign land. Our community is fortunate to have great organizations and individuals who work tirelessly each and every day to make these transitions successful. Louisville is proud to be a welcoming city to ALL newcomers.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to volunteer your time and talents to benefit the international community in Louisville. A wide range of options are available for people from all walks of life, each with varying levels of commitment and areas of focus. Whether you would like to work with adults or youth, engage in direct service or behind-the-scenes support, work with a particular group or language, or commit to a long-term, short-term, or a one-time opportunity, there is something for you!
To speak with an International Program Specialist about the volunteer opportunities available with our community partners, please call 574-4774 or send an email.
