Saturday  - 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Each year WorldFest needs over 100 volunteers. You can volunteer in many different, fun and exciting positions; everything from taking care of our artists to working behind the scenes!  Enjoy WorldFest from a different angle and meet people from all over the world that live in your community.

WorldFest on the Belvedere began as an event to supplement the work of the Mayor’s International Month in September 2002. The original one-day festival featured a limited amount of vendors and exhibitors; no entertainment was provided. From its humble roots, WorldFest has grown into a two-day affair held each Labor Day weekend on the historic Belvedere in the heart of Downtown Louisville. The festival has grown to include over 150 vendors and exhibitors, over 30 ethnic food vendors; interactive cultural pavilions, a children’s area and full entertainment provided throughout the entire weekend!

Event Stewardship:
This is a chance to experience every aspect of WorldFest, while also contributing to the success of the event. In this position you will have the opportunity to greet WorldFest attendees as they enter the Belvedere and answer important questions people may have at the Information Booth. As it is needed, you will provide assistance to the stage area, as well as to vendors and exhibitors.

World of Children:
If you are an educator or just enjoy working with children the World of Children offers many opportunities for you to get involved. On Friday, school groups will have the chance to explore the World of Children exhibits. During this time, you will have the chance to lead the students through each of the exhibits, as a tour guide. As an activities assistant you will have the opportunity to help facilitate children’s activities throughout the World of Children. If you have an exhibit you that you find culturally relevant, educational, and fun you can display your exhibit as a children’s area exhibitor

Parade of Cultures: This year you can be a part of the Parade of Cultures! As a parade leader, you will direct the participants through the route. Flags from around the world are an essential component to the Parade of Cultures. Helping with flag set-up is an easy way to get involved with WorldFest and the Parade of Cultures. As activities assistant, you can help with the general logistics required to make this parade a true success.

Naturalization Ceremony at WorldFest: One way to get involved in the Naturalization Ceremony is to help with set-up/strike of the event. You can also participate by greeting and checking-in the ceremony participants. As a ceremony assistant, your involvement will mainly focus on the logistics and overall success of the ceremony.
