LWC Receives Regional Awards

Louisville Water Company (LWC) received three awards at the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Professionals Conference held in Lexington.
▪Kent Horrell, Manager of Production Operations, was given the Operator of the Year Award by the Ohio Valley Water and Sanitation Commission.
▪The Water Environment Association Source Protection Award was presented to LWC and Hydro-geologist Marsha Meyer for developing a program to promote environmental stewardship in the area around the company’s Riverbank Filtration project.
▪Outstanding Community Relations Award was presented to Kelley Dearing Smith for the Smile Kentucky! program. LWC helped create this program in 2002 that focuses on children’s dental health.
The Water Professional Conference is a peer group for drinking water and sanitation professionals in Kentucky and Tennessee.
