Monday October 28, 2013
Louisville Water Company is one of six water utilities receiving the highest honor for utility performance from the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA). The awards were presented at AMWA’s annual conference in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Louisville Water received the “Platinum Award” for outstanding achievement in utility management and performance. AMWA noted Louisville Water’s outstanding water quality and engineering achievements; its 2013 S&P AAA rating and its highest customer satisfaction rating in 2012. The award also noted community engagement with employees volunteering over 5,700 hours to 117 organizations in 2012 and contributing more than $200,000 to Fund for the Arts, Metro United Way and Water for People.
Louisville Water President and CEO Jim Brammell accepted the award. “This achievement highlights our commitment in providing a product that’s a lifeline to this community – a safe, high-quality supply of drinking water,” said Brammell. “Our Board, management and employees are focused on delivering this service every day at an excellent value. We’re honored to be recognized for the work we do.”
Louisville Water is one of six metropolitan utilities receiving the Platinum Awards. The others include utilities in Ohio, New York, Florida, Virginia and California. AMWA is an organization of the largest publicly owned drinking water suppliers in the United States.
“AMWA awards recognize the extraordinary performance of water agencies where management vision and employee commitment create a sustainable utility producing ample supplies of clean, safe drinking water,” said AMWA President Pat Mulroy, General Manager, Las Vegas Valley Water District. “The communities served by these award winners should be proud of the accomplishments of their forward-thinking, exceptionally well-managed public utilities.”
