World Water Day
Wednesday March 23, 2011
Louisville Water Company, EDGE OUTREACH and Frazier International History Museum hosted a special World Water Day celebration to help raise awareness and understanding about the importance of clean drinking water around the world.
Visitors learned how a new invention from EDGE Outreach can take dirty water from a hand pump, purify it in one motion, and store it in a safe container. They experienced three floors of exhibits including the "Water Works" exhibit, which highlights the fascinating history of how Louisville Water Company's innovation has helped provide clean drinking water for the world. Louisville Water Company representatives and local EDGE OUTREACH volunteers shared their "Water Stories," discussing their personal experiences and the impact a lack of safe drinking water can have around the world.
