Thursday May 22, 2003
Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson has been voted Kentucky’s best “Civic Leader or Politician,” according to a reader poll conducted by a statewide magazine.
Kentucky Monthly, which has a readership of more than 132,000 people, is announcing Abramson’s recognition in its June issue. The magazine, which asks readers to select their favorites in 47 categories ranging from best department store to favorite radio and TV personalities, also names Louisville as both the best town to live in and best town to visit. The magazine announced the winners in a news release today.
“I’m honored that Kentuckians throughout our Commonwealth recognized the work we’ve done in the past and the work we’re continuing to do to move our community forward,” Abramson said. “It’s a testament to the exciting things happening in Louisville that the community and so many of its personalities and cultural and entertainment offerings are cited by people throughout the state.”
Kentucky Monthly is celebrating its fifth anniversary. It circulates in all 120 Kentucky counties and in 46 states. The magazine conducted the reader poll through ballots in the publication and on-line at www.kentuckymonthly.com.
Thousands of readers participated in the survey, according to a news release from the magazine.
