Autumn Leaf Drop-off Program for 2003

Thursday October 16, 2003

Louisville Metro residents will be able to drop off their autumn leaves at four locations beginning Oct. 20 and continuing through Dec. 18.

The drop-off sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. (All sites will be closed Thanksgiving Day and all day on Sunday).

The drop-off locations include:
· 1st District Works Yard – 595 Hubbards Lane

· 2nd District Works Yard – 3528 Newburg Road

· 3rd District Works Yard – 7219 Dixie Highway
· Special Construction Yard – 617 Outer Loop

Only loose leaves will be accepted. Leaves in plastic bags will not be accepted because plastic will not decompose. Residents may bring bagged leaves to dump out of the bags on site.

Anyone bringing plastic bags or tarps to the drop-offs sites must take the plastic with them when they leave. No brush, tree trimmings or grass clippings will be accepted.

The drop-off sites are open for residential use only. Commercial operations are not permitted to dump leaves at the sites.

If you have questions about the drop-off program, contact Louisville Metro Public Works at 574-5810.
