Metro Government Holiday Closings
Tuesday December 23, 2008
Louisville Metro Government offices will be closed December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2, in celebration of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
The closings include two furlough days for non-essential government employees, part of the city’s effort to meet a $20 million projected budget shortfall.
Garbage and recycling will not be picked on Christmas or New Year’s Day. Regular pick-ups will be delayed by a day. For the furlough days, Dec. 26 and Jan 2, garbage and recycling will be picked up, as scheduled.
Emergency responders – police, fire, EMS and Metro Corrections – will operate as normal on all four days.
