Merger Task Force Seeks Citizen Input

Tuesday July 12, 2011

Online survey now available

The members of the Merger 2.0 Task Force’s Public Safety Committee are encouraging all citizens to participate in a survey with questions focusing on a variety of public safety issues, including citizens’ experience with the Louisville Metro Police Department and Metro Corrections.

In January, Mayor Greg Fischer created the task force to review the first eight years of merged city/county government. The 23-member panel will make recommendations for improving merger for all residents later this year.

With citizen input as a top priority, the eight-member Public Safety Committee created the online survey to allow citizens the opportunity to have input into the recommendations they will present to the Mayor.

Participants are asked to provide their zip code and other information to ensure that responses are received from all areas of the community; however the survey is confidential. Other information required will allow the task force to accurately address concerns raised through the survey results.

Only one survey per computer is allowed. It will be available at www.louisvilleky.gov through August 2nd and takes approximately ten minutes to complete. Results are expected back to committee members by mid-to-late August.
