Mayor Greg Fischer Newsroom

New Dates for Citizens to Talk With Mayor Fischer

Monday January 14, 2013

“Talk to Greg” meetings set for
Central, PRP, Iroquois, Eastern High Schools

Got a big idea for the city, or a small problem in your neighborhood? You can tell Mayor Greg Fischer and other city officials about it in person during four upcoming sessions at local high schools.

“Talk to Greg” meetings with citizens are scheduled for:

· Feb.11 -- Central High School, 1130 W. Chestnut St.

· May 13 -- Pleasure Ridge Park High School, 5901 Greenwood Rd.

· Aug. 12 -- Iroquois High, 4615 Taylor Blvd.

· Nov. 11 -- Eastern High, 12400 Old Shelbyville Rd.

“I always enjoy hearing directly from citizens on what’s working, what’s not working and how we can do a better job of delivering services,” Fischer said. “Whether it’s a big idea for moving our entire city forward, or something that impacts your neighborhood, we want to hear about it.”

The “Talk to Greg” meetings start at 6 p.m. At each meeting, Fischer is joined by city department directors, mayor’s office staff and Metro Councilmembers. All citizen suggestions and requests will be entered into a computerized city tracking system for follow up and response.

In addition to Fischer’s face-to-face meetings, virtual “Talk to Greg” sessions are held quarterly where Fischer and other city officials respond to citizens on Facebook and Twitter. The next online session is set for Jan. 22, 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Between sessions, people can always visit the mayor’s Facebook page or send him an email at
