Committee Description
This committee processes all legislation pertaining to the City’s and related agencies’ (TARC, PARC, etc.) annual operating and capital budget ordinances and related amendments throughout the fiscal year. Receives quarterly oral and written presentations from the administration regarding revenue and expenses relative to budgeted or forecasted amounts. Obtains and analyzes revenue forecasts and expert opinions on same. Monitors Revenue Commission tax collections and works with the administration on setting expenditure priorities for capital and operating activities. Approves annual budgets of the Jefferson County Clerk and Sheriff’s offices. Considers lawsuit settlements and authorizes disposal of surplus City property. Considers General Obligation Bonds and approval of related budget ordinances. Authorizes acceptance of funds and donations on behalf of the City.
