Committee Description
This committee provides a forum for assessing the City’s governmental functions, risks, resource allocation, financial reporting and auditing. The committee will meet annually with the City’s independent auditors and at least quarterly with the City’s internal audit staff. Considers activities of the City’s special purpose entities (SPE’s), self insurance funds, insurance losses and related litigation, loss mitigation techniques and risk reduction. Any council member may request this committee to hold hearings on other matters of current public interest subject to the approval of the request by the Committee Chair and Council President. Also considers legislation at the State and Federal levels and sets priorities on legislation to pursue on behalf of the City at the Kentucky General Assembly and intergovernmental relations.
